GPS vehicle tracking system in Mumbai for port, highway and city fleets

Last checked: 6 October 2026. Satcop India designs and makes the trackers on this page. Product details come from the Satcop website. We run one head office, in Pune, and travel to Mumbai for every demo.

Why Mumbai fleets need a live map

Mumbai's goods traffic squeezes through a handful of busy arteries. Container trailers shuttle between the JNPA terminals at Nhava Sheva, container freight stations around Uran and Panvel, and the warehouse belt in Bhiwandi. Delivery vans work the island city and the suburbs along the Western and Eastern Express Highways, while trucks heading inland climb the Mumbai–Pune Expressway. Add monsoon waterlogging, long waits at terminal gates and toll plazas, and shifts that run late into the night, and an owner can easily lose sight of a vehicle for hours.

A GPS vehicle tracking system replaces the "where are you now?" calls with a live map. You can see where each trailer, van or cab is, how long it has stood at a gate, and whether it took the route you agreed with the client.

Fleet tracking in Mumbai: what we can fit

  • Trailers and trucks: our GPS tracker for trucks puts every vehicle on one screen. Draw a geofence around a terminal, a CFS yard or a Bhiwandi warehouse and get an alert on entry and exit.
  • The tracker itself: the in-house DS8888/BS8888 fleet tracking device, designed and manufactured in India, with overspeed, ignition and tamper alerts.
  • Fuel: a fuel level sensor or a Bluetooth wireless fuel sensor shows the tank level and flags sudden drops, which matters when trucks idle for long spells in queues.
  • Daily software: the fleet tracking app on web and mobile, with map layers, stopover alerts and reports you can export for client billing.
  • Running the whole fleet: fleet management software adds route planning, maintenance alerts and driver behavior reports.
  • Electric delivery vehicles: EV fleet management covers tracking, charging and energy views.
  • Cameras: dashcams and 4G cameras that pair with GPS.

GPS tracker for truck owners in Mumbai

A truck that has stood still outside a terminal for three hours looks exactly like a truck that has broken down, unless the map also shows ignition status and stop time. The Satcop tracker reports roughly every 10 seconds, so dispatchers see the queue move. When a vehicle drops into a dead zone, such as a basement parking level or a poor-signal stretch, the device keeps data in local memory for up to about 15 hours and has an internal battery backup of 6 to 8 hours. The trip fills in on the map once the signal returns.

Reports export as XLS, PDF, CSV or TXT. Many transporters attach a trip report to the invoice when a consignee disputes waiting time.

AIS 140 GPS device for Mumbai commercial vehicles

Tourist cabs, contract carriages and other passenger vehicles registered in Mumbai are often asked about AIS 140. Whether your vehicle needs one depends on its category and permit, so check with the RTO that registered it before you buy. If you do need one, our AIS 140 GPS tracker is designed to meet AIS 140 standards, supports GPS, GLONASS and IRNSS (GAGAN), and has an SOS/panic input.
