Satcop India Pvt. Ltd. · Last updated: 3 October 2026

This policy explains, in plain English, what personal data Satcop India Pvt. Ltd. collects when you use our website or contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India and its rules, as they apply to us.

1. Who we are

Satcop India Pvt. Ltd. ("Satcop", "we", "us") is a GPS and telematics company. Our head office is:

Satcop India Pvt. Ltd.
Office 727, 728, 729 Nyati Enthral Business Park, Kharadi, Pune, MH, 411014

My School Ride® is a registered trademark.

For the personal data you give us through our website, forms, calls and WhatsApp, we decide why and how it is used. In the DPDP Act this makes us the "Data Fiduciary". For location and other data from devices that our customers use under a service agreement, see section 4: we handle that data on the customer's behalf.

2. What we collect

Details you give us. When you fill in a demo or quote form, call us, email us or message us on WhatsApp, we may collect:

  • your name, phone number and email address;
  • your school or organisation name;
  • your city;
  • the message you write to us, and anything else you choose to share.

Click and usage information. We record when someone taps a "Call" or "WhatsApp" button on our site (we count the click; we do not hear or read the call or chat through this). We also collect information about how the site is used and how you reached it, such as pages viewed, the device and browser type, approximate location, the page or advertisement that brought you here, and cookie or other online identifiers. We collect this using:

  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager (website analytics and tag management);
  • Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel cookies and identifiers, once we enable them, to measure and improve our advertising.

Device and vehicle location data. This is covered separately in section 4.

3. Why we use your data

  • to reply to your enquiry and send you the information or quote you asked for;
  • to book, run and follow up on demos;
  • to provide, install and support our products and services for customers;
  • to understand how our website is used and to measure and improve our advertising;
  • to keep our website and systems secure and to prevent misuse;
  • to meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations and to handle legal claims.

We do not use the details you give in a demo or quote form for anything unrelated to these purposes without asking you first.

4. Device and vehicle location data (processed for our customers)

When a school, fleet or other organisation buys our GPS devices, cameras or apps, our systems process data from those devices, such as vehicle location, trip history, alerts, and (where the customer has enabled them) camera recordings and attendance records. This is called customer data.

We process customer data on behalf of the customer, under our service agreement with them and their instructions. The customer decides who can see it and what it is used for, and the customer is responsible for having a valid basis, including any required consent, for the people whose data it is. If you are a driver, parent, student, employee or other person whose data appears in a customer's account, please contact that customer (for example your school or employer) first for questions about your data. You can also write to us and we will pass your request to the right customer or help as the law requires.

5. Children's data

Our website is meant for schools, businesses and other adults, and is not aimed at children. Our school products (such as bus tracking, attendance and parent apps) may process data about students. We process student data only on the school's instructions and under our agreement with the school. The school is responsible for obtaining any verifiable parental consent the law requires. If you think a child has sent us personal data through our website directly, please contact us and we will deal with it.

6. Legal basis and consent

Under the DPDP Act we use your personal data either (a) with your consent, or (b) for the limited "legitimate uses" the law allows. For example:

  • Consent. When you submit a form, call or message us, you voluntarily give us your details so we can respond to you, and we use them for that purpose. Where the law requires your consent for other uses, for example certain analytics and advertising cookies, we will ask for it.
  • Legitimate uses. We may also use data where you voluntarily provided it and have not said no to its use, to comply with a law or a court order, or for other uses the Act permits.

You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 10). Withdrawing does not affect what we did lawfully before you withdrew. It may mean we can no longer respond to your enquiry or provide a particular service.

7. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed, with:

  • Service providers that help us run our business, such as website hosting and IT providers, form and CRM tools, and email and messaging services (including WhatsApp, if you contact us or we reply there);
  • Analytics and advertising platforms, such as Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Ads) and Meta, which receive cookie and usage data when those tools are active;
  • Professional advisers, auditors and authorities where the law requires or to protect our legal rights;
  • a buyer or successor, if our business is restructured or transferred, who would be bound to respect your data in line with the law.

Our providers may only use your data to provide services to us. Some of them (for example Google and Meta) may process data outside India. We transfer personal data outside India only as the DPDP Act and its rules allow.

Cookies are small files stored on your browser or device. We use them, and similar identifiers, to:

Measure ads and the actions that follow them (such as a form, call or WhatsApp click)Google Ads, Meta pixelOnly once we enable them

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can use tools such as Google's opt-out options and your Meta ad settings to limit ad tracking. If you block cookies, the website will still work, but we may not be able to measure visits from you.

9. How long we keep data

We keep personal data for as long as we need it to respond to you and to provide the service you asked for, and after that for as long as the law, our accounting and tax records, or the handling of any dispute require. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous. Customer data from devices is kept as set out in our agreement with the customer.

10. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed;
  • Correct or complete your data, and update it;
  • Erase your data, unless we need to keep it by law;
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it;
  • Grievance redressal: ask us to resolve a complaint about how we handle your data;
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or cannot do so yourself.

To use any of these rights, email support@satcop.com or call +91 86000 02222. We may need to confirm who you are before we act. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational, after first using our grievance process.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

Our website may link to other sites, such as WhatsApp, Google Maps and social media. They have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
