Running school transport is a daily operations job. Someone has to know which buses have left, which students are on which bus, which stops were missed, which vehicle's permit expires next month, and what to tell parents when a route runs late. In many schools this lives in spreadsheets, phone calls and WhatsApp groups. A school transport management system brings it into one place and connects it to live GPS and attendance.

The transport manager's dashboard

Drivers and attendants

The system only works if the people on the bus use it. The driver and attendant app is kept simple: navigation and trip details, the list of assigned students in pickup order, an in and out report, attendant attendance marking, a wrong-direction alert, and an SOS button that reaches the school admin.

Parents

Parents get one app instead of a dozen WhatsApp groups. It shows the live bus map and ETA, an alert about 2 km before the stop, pickup and drop reminders, attendance, leave requests and school announcements, with several children on one screen and several languages.

Campus attendance

Many schools pair bus attendance with UHF readers at the gate, so the office can see both whether a child boarded the bus and whether they walked into school. Reports can be pulled by class, grade or date. See smart attendance.
